Warehouse Team Leader
Location: Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire
Shift Pattern: 5 over 7, including Sunday working
Hours: 45 hours per week
Shift Times: 2:30pm – 11:30pm
Please note: This role is based in a chilled environment, with temperatures ranging between 3°C and 5°C.
We have an immediate requirement for Warehouse Team Leaders to join our National Distribution Centre in Waltham Cross.
As a Warehouse Team Leader, you will be the first point of contact on the warehouse floor, supporting the day-to-day operation and leading a team of 20+ warehouse operatives. You will help ensure the warehouse runs efficiently while meeting operational targets, KPIs and service levels.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Manage day-to-day warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, picking and dispatch of products.
Lead, motivate and support a team of 20+ warehouse operatives.
Ensure operational KPIs, productivity targets and service levels are achieved.
Support the scheduling, training and performance management of team members.
Monitor stock levels and carry out regular stock checks to minimise discrepancies.
Ensure health and safety procedures and company policies are followed.
Work closely with the Quality team to maintain product quality and picking and packing standards.
Ensure warehouse equipment and systems are used safely and effectively.
Prepare and maintain accurate reports on warehouse performance and operational activity.
Identify opportunities to improve processes, efficiency and productivity.
Support cost control and help identify opportunities to reduce waste.
Provide cover and support across different areas of the warehouse operation when required.
To be successful in your application, you will need to demonstrate:
Proven experience in a warehouse leadership or supervisory role, preferably within a chilled FMCG environment.
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Experience managing and motivating a team of 20+ employees.
Good knowledge of warehouse processes and KPIs.
Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
Experience using warehouse management systems and Microsoft Office.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A proactive approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
