Planning shifts, scheduling staff and managing absence, overtime, return-to-work meetings, probations and agency usage
Keeping stock accurate through regular stock checks and strong inventory control
Working with Quality Control to make sure picking and packing meet our high standards
Championing health and safety, and making sure warehouse equipment such as forklifts and racking is maintained and used safely
Producing reports on productivity, inventory and performance to support decision-making
Spotting opportunities to improve processes, cut waste and manage costs within budget
Onboarding and training new starters, and developing talented individuals into future leaders
Working closely with the Operations Manager and Section Heads to keep the night operation running smoothly
What We’re Looking For
Experience leading or supervising a team in a warehouse, distribution or logistics environment (food or chilled experience a bonus)
Confidence managing people: absence, performance, onboarding and agency staff
A strong understanding of warehouse KPIs, productivity and service levels
A safety-first mindset and good knowledge of warehouse health and safety
Good organisational and communication skills, plus confidence using reports and IT systems
A proactive, problem-solving attitude and the energy to drive a team forward
Flexibility to work additional hours when the operation needs it, including nights and weekends
What’s In It for You
Annual pay reviews
28 days holiday including Bank Holidays, increasing to 33 days with service
Retail discount membership
Health care cash plan
Company-contributed stakeholder pension
